Ryan R. Reigelsperger, age 35, of South Beach, FL, previously of Wayland, passed away unexpectedly, Friday, September 15, 2017 in New Orleans, LA.
Ryan was born July, 2, 1982 in Dansville, the son of Robert & Nancy (Engel) Reigelsperger. He was a 2000 graduate of Wayland-Cohocton Central School. He also attended SUNY Alfred; where he received his Bachelor of Surveying Engineering degree and a Minor in Construction Engineering. Ryan was a member of the Gamma Theta Gamma fraternity. The highlight of Ryan's surveying career was being crew chief on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge project in Maryland. He worked for several other surveying firms in beach locations where he lived. He enjoyed mapping surveyed sites.
Ryan was an Eagle Scout. He was a self-taught Bass guitarist and helped form the band "The Knotty North". He loved golfing and hunting and was a crack shot at both. He was a huge Oakland Raiders fan. He loved surfing and enjoyed many beaches; Honolulu where he lived for several years; also Key West and South Beach.
Ryan is survived by his parents, Robert & Nancy Reigelsperger of Wayland; his sister, Jill (Mitchell) Reid of Virginia Beach, VA; his maternal grandmother, Elizabeth "Betty" Engel of Perkinsville; his paternal grandmother, Cecelia Reigelsperger of Wayland; nephews, Landon Reid and Weston Reid; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Gordon Reigelsperger and maternal grandfather, Adam Engel.
Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 pm Friday Sept. 29th at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland, where a memorial service will be held 11 am, Saturday. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Perkinsville.
