Jo-Anne M. Healy MSN, APRNC (formerly Spaulding) Of Naples, N.Y.

After a 21 year battle with cancer Jo-Anne has been relieved of her struggle.

Born in Georgetown, Mass. to Roy and Katherine Spaulding, she graduated from Georgetown High in 1969. Upon graduating from CCFL in 1977, with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, she went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Rochester and achieved national certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric Nursing through the American Nurses Association. Post Graduate Studies provided her with prescription writing credentials. Jo-Anne retired from the V.A. in Canandaigua after more than 30+ years of providing patient care to the women and men who have served our country. During this time she received many awards and commendations for her work on behalf of our Veterans. Retirement didn't slow down her passion for learning and the need to help others. She went on to become a Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Hypnotherapist and Nurse Consultant. She became co-founder and co-chairperson of the Margery Pawluk Cancer Fund, working tirelessly to raise funds to meet the needs of patients receiving care and treatment at the Wilmot Institute/Sands Cancer Center at Thompson Health. On Oct. 7th she was awarded recognition as Woman of the Decade "for her lifetime achievement serving with dedication and devotion to all patients throughout her career of healing." She is survived by her husband of 38 yrs. Bob, sons Matthew and Kevin and the most precious gift of her life, her granddaughter Lia. She passed in a room full of love. She will be sorely missed by all those whose life she has touched. There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Jo-Anne's life will be held on Sat. Oct 14th from 2-6pm at 6020 State Rt. 64 Naples, NY.
