The humorous, lovable and just plain cool, Darryl A. Braun said goodbye to this world on February 13, 2018.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the lovingly devoted Sally Braun (Hawks). Additionally, he is survived by his older brother Don Braun (Joann) of Naples and Joan Braun (widow of Gary Braun). Many in-laws, nieces and nephews complete the list of those left to embellish his memory.
Darryl, 69, was pre-deceased by his mother and father, Anne and Albert Braun of Naples; brother Gary Braun; and sister and brother-in-law Sally & Clayton Ormsby.
After graduating high school and college, Darryl joined his father and brother in the family construction business. Darryl could build anything and spent the better part of his life building and rebuilding many structures in and around the community.
One of the best story tellers and jokesters of all time, DB was everyone's uncle. He could be counted on to bring a bit of irreverence, even in the most solemn of occasions. His specialty was weaving a story to make you laugh and leave you speechless at the same time.
At most family gatherings, DB could be found by the grill. Nothing said summer at the lake more than tasting a little something off the grill and DB's famous baked beans.
He was a founding member of the Bristol Harbor Dawn Patrol, and he relinquished his badge after a series of ownership transitions failed to protect the group's status as the lead group off the tee every Sunday morning.
He could be found watching the Food Network or the History Channel from which he gathered enough facts to outwit the smartest of the pack.
He and his beloved Sally could be found traveling all over the East Coast visiting nieces and nephews in their countless activities. To relax and unwind, "DB" and Sal found St. Martin, Mazatlan and Charleston to be favorite vacation spots.
Following his wishes, there will not be a service, but well-wishers are encouraged to grab their favorite beverage, find some friends and share some stories in his memory.
