Timothy H. Smith, age 64, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his home after a long illness.
Tim was born January 23, 1953 in Bath, a son of Harold & Pearl (Sabins) Smith. He was first employed at Rogers & Tenbrook in Wayland. He married Melody A. Smith on August 16, 1975; she survives. He then worked at Polly-O Dairy in Cohocton for 18 years and retired from Schwans after 5 years of dedicated service. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a sister, Irene Smith, father-in-law, Richard Smith, brother-in-law, Douglas Cronk and a dear friend, Bob Anderson.
Tim was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, hunting, boating, snowmobiling, taking photos, country music and bringing joy to everyone, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. His favorite toy was his prized Pink Panther 1971 Dodge Swinger, 318 automatic w/ black vinyl top.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Melody; 2 daughters, Daisy Smith & Sue Smith; grandchildren, Michael Smith, Joe Smith, Natasha Smith, Robert Smith & Kurtis Schauer; his siblings, Tom (June) Smith, Sam (Sally) Smith & Judy Cronk; his closest friends, Jason Schauer, Chris Whitson, AJ & Jesse (nephews), mother-in-law, Carleen Smith; many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and his dog & cat (Maggie & Shirley).
Friends may call 4-7 pm Thursday at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland, where funeral services will be held at 7 pm. Burial will be 11 am, Friday at the Village Cemetery, Wayland.
