Obituary of Esther Rauber
Esther J. Rauber, age 75, passed away peacefully Monday, May 5, 2008 in Florida.
Esther was born July 9, 1932 in Ossian, a daughter of Ward M. & Harriet (Bonner) Linzy. She married Nicholas Peter Rauber on December 20, 1952; he predeceased her on October 23, 1982. She was a former bookkeeper and parts clerk at K.G. Richmond in Dansville. She also was a former bookkeeper at Pappas Cleaners for many years. She was the Town Clerk of Dansville for several years and she also was an attendant at Stony Brook State Park. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Glenn Linzy and her sister, Margaret Krupp.
Esther was a member of the Dansville Moose Lodge as well as the Moose Lodge of Tavares Florida. She enjoyed playing BINGO, traveling and watching baseball games, especially the Atlanta Braves; but most of all she loved spending time playing cards with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Brent P. (Beth) Rauber of Canisteo, Brian L. (Beverly) Rauber of Dansville and Barry C. (Lenna) Rauber of Arkport; 6 grandchildren, Nichole & Christopher Rauber, Megan & Rebekah Rauber and Peter & Elicka Rauber; 1 sister, Ruth Walker of Ossian; sister-in-law, Jenny Linzy of Ossian; brother-in-law, Thomas (Mary Ellen) Rauber of Dansville; Long time companion, Wayne Dersam of Tavares; several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may call Thursday 6-8 pm and Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Chamberlin Baird Funeral Home, 73 Main ST., Dansville, where funeral services will be held 10 am, Saturday. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery, Dansville.
