Lillian A. Ryan, age 92, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Livingston CNR in Mt. Morris.
Lillian was born March 14, 1924 in Wayland, a daughter of Raymond & Mildred (Taylor) Hoffman. She was the wife of Edward Ryan Sr., who predeceased her on June 21, 2004. She was a wife, homemaker & mother of eight children. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by 2 sons, Harold Gilmer & Ted Ryan Sr.; a granddaughter, Dawnie Gilmer and a great grandson, Kyle VanOrsdale; her brothers, Paul, Frank, James & Robert Hoffman; her sisters, Mary Loveland, Helen Beaupre, Betty Blowers & Dorothy Kimbel Cambeis.
Lillian was a lifetime member of the Theodore VanTassel American Legion Post Women's Auxiliary in Wayland, a communicant member of the Holy Family Catholic Community and a member of the Rosary Society at St. Joseph's Church in Wayland, and a member of the Wayland Community Chest.
Lillian enjoyed playing BINGO, and watching TV, especially TV Land shows such as Ironside, Gunsmoke and Rifleman, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Lillian is survived by her children, Linda (Larry) Dean, Ed Ryan Jr, Chuck (Brenda) VanOrsdale, Ralph VanOrsdale, Dan (Chris) Ryan & Mary Ann Ryan; 40 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Francis Hoffman; many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may call 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am, Wednesday at St. Joseph's Church, 206 Fremont St., Wayland, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wayland.
