Deborah M. Scharbach, age 63, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Debbie was born November 16, 1953 in Fayetteville, NC, a daughter of John & Frances (Knapp) VanDerWalle. She was a shift manager at Dunkin Donuts in Hornell. She was predeceased by her first husband, Clifford Russell in 2016.
Debbie was a former member of the Farmington Fireman's Auxiliary. She enjoyed living in the country, raising horses and going to horse shows, collecting antiques, watching NASCAR, especially, Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jeff Gordon, she also like to watch "Criminal Minds", "Bones" and Vampire Diaries", she liked to go camping, Christmas, and baking; she would bake over 500 Christmas cookies each year. She considered herself a country girl.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Holly (Mike) Ferrari, Heather (Grant) Shoemaker & Hayley Scharbach (Josh Cromp); 8 grandchildren, Louis, Emma, Jennifer, Cody, Ayden, Riley, Kayla & Ty; her parents, John & Frances VanDerWalle; her 3 siblings, David VanDerWalle (Gabrielle Hollingsworth), Cheryl (Casey) Gillis and Jeffrey (Susan) Eckert; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, her dog "Sadie" and cat "Scout" and all the "adopted" children who all called her mom.
Friends may call 4-7 pm Tuesday at the Chamberlin – Baird Funeral Home, 73 Main St., Dansville, where funeral services will be held at 7 pm.
