William E. Proctor, age 87, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 6, 2017 at the home of his daughter, Bonnie in Conesus, surrounded by his family.
Bill was born January 28, 1930 in Hemlock, a son of Charles & Thelma (Thorp) Proctor. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War. He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn (Huntone) Proctor; a son, Richard Proctor and a son-in-law, Bret Johnston.
He was a former Cub Scout & Boy Scout Leader in the Conesus area; and a former member of the Conesus American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, woodworking and crafts, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived his children, Linda (Dan) Burley, Robert Proctor, Jim (Colleen) Proctor, Bonnie (Mike) Litteer, Mike Proctor, Laurie Johnston, Jeff (Theresa) Proctor & Peggy Proctor; 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; his sister, Beverly VanScooter; many nieces, nephews, cousins & his devoted canine "Molly".
Friends may call 4-7 pm Thursday at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland, where funeral services will be held at 7 pm. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
