Grace Shirley Kratoville left us on her terms December 21, 2021. Born on August 14, 1931, to Gordon & Gladys Smith in White Plains NY, she graduated from Warrensburg HS and then SUNY Oneonta. It was in Oneonta where she met her husband of 65 years, Harry J. Kratoville, Jr. She now rejoins him and her brothers Doug & Bob. Shirley is survived by her 3 children; David (Karin), Karen & Steven, grandchildren; Kailee (Derek), Taylor & Kiera, and sisters; Nancy (Joe) & Norma (Steve). We celebrate the life she led and our memories of her. She may have gone by Shirley, but she was aptly named Grace. She enriched the lives of those in her family and a wide circle of friends around the country. Shirley was a teacher whose 3 children all earned graduate degrees. She taught elementary school in Phoenix, Pittsford, Fairport and Naples – usually called "Mrs. K" by her students. Naples became her home and Shirley & Harry lived there for almost 50 years. Shirley enjoyed the usual things in life, but traveling, a pool and golf were her special activities. Shirley, Mom, Grammy, Dee Dee, Mrs. K, Ma Goose we miss you, we thank you and we love you! A celebration of Shirley's life with family and friends will be held at a future date in Naples, NY. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the Naples Library (118 S. Main St., Naples NY 14512) or the American Cancer Society (P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123 or 1-800-227-2345).
