Obituary of Alice Wood

Alice M. Wood, age 92, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 27, 2017 at her home.

Alice was born May 1, 1925 in Wayland, a daughter of Willard & Myrtle (Green) Fronk. She was a graduate of Wayland Central School. She married Robert E. Wood on April 27, 1946. In her younger years, Alice worked at Kelly Brothers Nursery and Moore Cottrell Publishing in N. Cohocton. She was a wife, homemaker and mother of four children. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Bob; her sister & brother-in law, Lucille & Neil "Shorty" Glassbrook, and her brothers & sisters-in-law, Robert & Martha Fronk, James & Marjorie Fronk; her brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, "Red" & Ruth Meyer and Jack & Joyce "Chubb" Wester;.

Alice was a faithful member of the Evangelical Church in Wayland and the Wayland United Methodist Church. She started playing the organ at the Evangelical Church at the age of 15 in 1940 and continued playing for over 60 years. She was also the churches choir director for many years.

Alice enjoyed bowling, crocheting, reading and music, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Alice is survived by her children Linda Croston, Pamela Rauber, Rhonda (Bill) Morsch & Dean (Martina) Wood; 10 granddaughters, Leah (Joel), Amy (Chris), Holly (George), Laura, Rachel (Justin), Meg (Matt), Emma, Libby, Katie & Kylie; 6 great grandchildren, Jacob, Molly, Letha, Perry, Averie & Rowan; many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Friends may call 1-3 pm Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland, where funeral services will be held at 3 pm. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Wayland.

Contributions may be made to the Livingston County Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.
