Daniel W. Piedmonte, age 71, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 20, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
Dan was born July 29, 1946 in Warsaw, a son of Frank & Carmela (Simboli) Piedmonte. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1966-1968. After his tour of duty, he married Gail Wallenbeck; she survives. Dan was a retired correction officer from Groveland Correctional Facility. In addition to his parents, Dan was also predeceased by a brother, Dennis DeVincolis.
Dan enjoyed shooting archery, hunting; especially bow hunting, fishing, golfing, carpentry and he was a New York Yankee & Buffalo Bill fan; but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Dan is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail; his children, Susan (Marshall) Farris, Nathan Piedmonte, Dan (Michelle) Piedmonte & Aaron Piedmonte; 6 grandchildren, Kayla Piedmonte, Cylas Piedmonte, Camerin Piedmonte, Nathan Piedmonte, Dalton Farris & Luke Farris; 4 sisters, Bernice Harris, Lydia DeVincolis, Linda (Tim) Corbin & Naomi Mitchell; 4 brothers, Jonathan (Joyce) Mitchell, David Mitchell, Jesse Mitchell & Michael Mitchell; many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may call 10:30am-11am Saturday, May 26 at the Cohocton Assembly of God Church, State Rte. 415, Cohocton, where funeral services will be held at 11 am; followed by full military honors. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Wayland.
