Obituary of Marian Fleischmann

Marian M. Fleischmann,

Naples: Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at age 94.

Marian loved her home in Hunts Hollow and never longed to move away. She was proud of her heritage and was not the least bit shy to tell people that on her mother's side (Rose Washburn Fleischman), her lineage went back to Aaron Hunt and his brother who first settled the valley from a land grant given by President Washington as payment for serving in the Revolutionary War. Marian's lineage was further enriched by the intermingling of the Native American population into the family history.

She was a prolific painter. Many of her oil paintings hang in homes across the United States and countries. She is catalogued as an artist with the Regional Artists of the Finger Lakes and Central New York State. She was a juried group of artists selected to appear in "Scenes of Monroe and Ontario County", published in 2003 by Anne Peacock-Jacobs. Lastly, she has a painting on permanent display at the Mill Art Center Gallery in Honeoye Falls.

She was a true entrepreneur at heart. She saw opportunities everywhere and found it hard to live a world where those talents were not as appreciated as she thought they should be. Her greatest success was her fruit stand which she ran into her nineties. It was just as it should be when years ago, the weatherman, Bill Peterson, would give her a plug on the local nightly news to let everyone know that Vince Crest Vineyards was where you should go to get the best grapes, juice and homemade pies. She heartily agreed with him. She made wonderful long lasting friendships with those who took weekend drives down into the Finger Lakes to stop by yearly for grapes, say hello to Marian and see what was going on.

She was a creative architect, wife, carpenter, mother, trapper, deer hunter, rattle snake eradicator extraordinaire, farmer and "get out of my way because here I come" woman. She bestowed her tenacious, honest "go for it" attitude in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband of 33 years (married April 10, 1943 – September 1976) Bruce J Wohlschlegel. Her parents: Herman and Rosa (Washburn) Fleischmann, Bothers and Sister; Pearl, Lyle, Danna, Walter, Ward, Herman, and Clara.

Marian M Fleischmann is survived by her sons and daughter, Bruce (Janice) Wohlschlegel, Scott (Vickie) Wohlschlegel, Garry (Bobbi) Wohlschlegel; and Marilyn (Wohlschlegel) Watson. Grandchildren: Sherry (Rod) LeFrois, Russell (Deanna) Wohlschlegel, Renee (Mike) Hass, Ian (Sharon) Mann, Kristin (Jonathan) Byrd, Jennifer (Craig) Knobel, Angela Wohlschlegel, Megan Watson, Olivia (Alexander) Robb, Cameron Wohlschlegel of Montana, and Caitlin (Brandon) Smith; many Great Grandchildren; Kasandra, Dylan, Cody, Zachary, Jake, Emily, Kia, & Jasper.
