Laura L. Emo, age 74, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Noyes Memorial Hosp. in Dansville after a long bout with Multiple Sclerosis.
Laura was born August 12, 1943 in Hornell, a daughter of William & Ida (Bissell) Springett. She was a 1961 graduate of Arkport Central School and a 1963 graduate of SUNY Farmingdale, Long Island with a degree in Advertising Art & Design. On Sept. 18, 1965 she married David Emo; he survives. In addition to her parents, Laura was also predeceased by a son, Dr.Toby Emo.
She was a member of the Dansville Presbyterian Church, a 61 year member of the Oak Hill & Stephens Mills Grange, where she held office of Lecturer for many years.
In her free time she enjoyed TV, Crossword and Word Search puzzles, bowling, baseball, football, especially the Buffalo Bills, cooking, and arts & crafts. But most of all she loved spending time with her children & grandchildren.
Laura is survived by her husband of 53 years, David; her son Todd (Kim) Emo; daughter-in-law, Dr. Ailsa Emo; her grandchildren, Caleb, Sarah, Piper & Brooks; her sister, Alayne (Lewis) Hess; her brother, Thomas (Teresa) Springett; many nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may call 4-7 pm Monday at the Chamberlin – Baird Funeral Home, 73 Main St., Dansville. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Tuesday at the Presbyterian Church, 3 School St., Dansville. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, South Dansville.
