Norman V. Waterhouse, age 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo.
Norman was born July 20, 1931 in Schenectady, NY at son of Garnet & Margaret (Martin) Waterhouse. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1951 to 1953. He married Dorothy Weigand on October 20, 1984; she survives. He was a construction worker, working at Bethlehem Steel in Buffalo and he was a member of the Local #210 Steel Workers Union.
Norman was a member of the Frank J. Casbolt Memorial VFW Post # 6780, the Daniel Goho American Legion Post # 87 and the Dansville Loyal Order of Moose.
Norman enjoyed fishing, camping and watching westerns on television, especially Bonanza & the Rifleman, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Norman is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Karen Brant, Norman (Mayette) Waterhouse, Mary Jo (Jay) Sawicki, William Waterhouse and John (Lisa) Waterhouse; brother, Robert (Delores) Waterhouse; sister, Ann Perillo; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Little, Marie Case & Elaine Gutek; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews & cousins.
Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 pm, Wednesday at the Chamberlin – Baird Funeral Home, 73 Main St., Dansville, where funeral services will be 11:30 am, Thursday. Burial with full military honors will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dansville.
