Milan G. "Ben" Kysor Sr. age 86, left this world Monday, January 21, 2019 at his home in West Sparta.
He was a lifetime West Sparta resident. He was a farmer and raised cattle and owned as many as 30 horses at one time. In the 60's on a regular basis, large horse shows were held on his property; in a large (ring) area. Early on, he worked at Foster Wheeler and GLF Feed Mill. Through all his other endeavors he worked full time as the water plant supervisor at the Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea. His final actual job was as the West Sparta Highway Superintendent from '84 to 95. He never stopped working though.
He worked all day from am till bedtime. He wasn't happy unless there was work to do. Our community of small farmers tended to come to "our Mr. Fix it" when things weren't working. He always had someone's equipment that he would getting running. He was a hardworking, sweet guy with a good heart and an unforgettable smile.... He was also a stock car driver, a water well digger, owning his own rig, and an avid antique tractor collector, accumulating over 20 tractors, all of which he was able to get up and running.
Ben was predeceased by his wife, Freda (Timinari) Kysor in 1989. He is survived by his 2 sons, Greg and Trish (Reynolds) Kysor and Milan "Buck" and Sandy (Pickel) Kysor Jr; 4 grandchildren, Benjamin and Kristina Polmanteer, Nathaniel "Tater" and Erin (Schuster) Kysor, Justin Kysor and Zachary Kysor; his much loved great grandchildren, Payton and Owen Kysor; a sister, Elaine (Charles) Comer; many much loved nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. He'll be so missed....We we're blessed to have him for so long.
