Obituary of Andrée J. Ulmer

Andrée J. (née Favier) Ulmer passed away peacefully at Highland Hospital in Rochester on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

Andrée was born in 1925 in Saint-Rémy-L'Honoré, France to the late André and Suzanne Favier.

In 1947, she immigrated to the United States to marry her husband, Edward; they were married in Phelps NY after the Second World War and settled in Naples shortly thereafter.

Before coming to the US, Andrée worked for Lloyd's Bank in Paris. After moving to the States, she found joy in teaching young children the French language as a teacher's aide in the kindergarten classroom at Naples Elementary School during the 1950s and 60s. Andrée was also a member of the St. Januarius Church in Naples and a 70 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Andrée very much enjoyed keeping in touch with family members and close friends from both the United States and France. She was very proud of her sons and grandsons who served our country as officers and pilots in the United States Air Force.

In addition to her parents, Andrée is also predeceased by her husband, Edward, who passed away in 1988; her youngest sister, Ginette; and a baby brother, Marcel.

Andrée is survived by her sons: Daniel (Margo) Ulmer of Naples and Richard Ulmer of Denver CO; grandsons: Scott (Tonya) and Jeff (Peggy) Ulmer; great-grandchildren: Emily, McKenna, Cole, Lauren, Sarah and Daniel; her sister: Claudia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the US and France.

As per Andrée's request, there will be no prior calling hours; the family invites you to join them in a Mass of Christian Burial for Andrée on Friday, February 15, 2019 at St. Januarius Catholic Church in Naples at 10am. A private burial will be held at Rose Ridge Cemetery in Naples at the convenience of the family where Andrée will be laid to rest next to her husband, Edward.
