Obituary of John E. Price Sr.

John E. Price, age 88, passed away peacefully Monday, July 22, 2019 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.

John was born July 24, 1930 in Batavia, a son of William & Mary (Mook) Price. He received his Bachelor's Degree and his Master's Degree in Education from Cornell University. He married Joan L. Lilly on July 17, 1955; she predeceased him on March 4, 2010. John was an Agriculture Teacher at Wayland Central School, retiring after 35 years. He also owned and operated his own greenhouse "Price's Plants" for 10 years. In addition to his wife and parents, John was also predeceased by a brother, William Price Jr.

John was a member of the Wayland Retired Teachers Assoc., the NRA and a past member of the Wayland Lions Club.

John enjoyed hunting and camping on his property, but most of all he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

John is survived by his children, John (Becky) Price, Judy (Steve) Shute, Jean (Mike) Kiechle, Jim (Alison) Price & Joe (Colleen) Price; 14 grandchildren, Kenny Bauer, Dennis Bauer, Jillian Price, Dakota Price, Carli Price, Kaitlyn Kiechle, Cody Kiechle, Cassandra Kiechle, Benjamin Price, Abby Price, Seth Price, Jack Price, Lilly Price & Teddy Price; 6 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Gunner, Jonah, Saige, Bryer & Quincy; his cat "George"; any many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Friends may call 1-3 pm Saturday, July 27th at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Village Cemetery, Wayland.
