Michele R. LaClair, age 60, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019 at her home.
Michele was born July 18, 1959 in Wellsville, a daughter of Lyman & Barbara (Houghtling) Babbitt. Her sewing career began in 1985 with Champion Products which is where she and Larry met and spanned the last 34 years ending up working in the same building for several companies until American Classic Outfitters took over. She was predeceased by her brothers, Lyman Babbitt III (December 23rd 2008) & Steve Babbitt (February 14th 2015).
She was always a caring and loving mother, sister, daughter, and grandma. The presence of her grandchildren were what warmed her heart most and put the biggest smile on her face. She loved to read and was an avid collector of anything with flamingos (mingos) on it. She surrounded herself with her well loved collection of plants. She liked to take walks, travel, and listen to music. Yet in her 60 years of life she never attempted to get a driver's license, reasoning that she always had someone to take her somewhere if she needed a ride. She was so full of life and is gone to soon, she will be greatly missed by many. She so loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Roby; her parents, Barbara & Lyman Babbitt; her sisters, Yvonne (Dick) Struble & Patty (Tom) Barber; her son, Clayton (Mindy) LaClair; her daughter, Lanina Roby; her grandchildren,: Sebastian & Noelle LaClair; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews & cousins.
A celebration of her life is being held 1pm, Saturday October 5th at the Springwater Firehall, 8145 S Main St, Springwater, NY 14560.
