Harry J. Kratoville Jr. passed away unexpectedly at Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua on Monday, January 6, 2020.
Harry was born on November 1, 1930 to the late Harry J. & Dorothy (Howell) Kratoville Sr. in Greenport NY. Harry grew up in Riverhead NY with his younger brother, John (Louise) and sister, Virginia (Raymond) Taylor, both of whom survive him.
Harry proudly served our country in the Korean War from 1953-1955 as a Lieutenant tank commander in the Marine Corps. He graduated from Hartwick College with a degree in business and went on to earn a Master’s Degree at the American Institute for Foreign Trade. Harry first worked at Graflex Inc. in Rochester and then at Labelon Corporation in Canandaigua.
Harry met the love of his life, Grace Shirley Smith, while they were in college and together celebrated 65 years of marriage. In addition to Shirley, Harry is survived by his children: David (Karin) Kratoville, Karen Kratoville and Steven Kratoville; and his grandchildren: Kailee (Derek) Kratoville Lucas, Taylor Kratoville and Kiera Kratoville.
A celebration of Harry’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020 from 2-4pm at the Grape Country Estates Party Room. Friends of Harry & Shirley are welcome to attend.
