Obituary of Roger L. Bidlack

Roger L. Bidlack, age 87, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. Roger was born September 26, 1932 in the Town of Cohocton, a son of Clifford & Mabel (Lindsey) Bidlack. Roger was a former upholsterer for Gunlocke Chair Co., He married Shirley Wheaton on August 18, 1956; she survives. In addition to his parents, Roger was also predeceased by a grandson, Josh Schichler and a brother, Garold Bidlack. Roger was a member of the Atlanta Presbyterian Church, a social member of the Hatch Hose Fire Co. and helped years ago with the Atlanta/Cohocton Boys Scouts. Roger enjoyed gardening, hunting, computer and cell phone internet and mowing his lawn, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Roger is survived by his wife of 63 years, Shirley; his children, Roxy (Joe) Sanford, Rhonda (Rick) Hitt, James Bidlack and Linda (Steven) Payne; 7 grandchildren, Nicholas Schichler, Savannah (Patrick) McKnight, Jamie Hitt, Jaylynne Hitt, Vanessa Payne, Melissa (Joel) Hasselbeck, Leah Payne, Steven Payne, Jeremiah Payne, Micah Payne and Jonah Payne; 3 great grandchildren, Connor & Bailey Perry and Logan Hasselbeck; a niece, Gail Sanders; a nephew, Robert Bidlack. Friends may call 2-5 pm Sunday at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Monday at the Atlanta Presbyterian Church, 2 West Main St., Atlanta, NY 14808. Burial will be in Clearview Cemetery, N. Cohocton. Contributions may be made to the Atlanta Presbyterian Church, 2 West Main St., Atlanta, NY 14808.
