Obituary of Merton C Lincoln

Merton (Mert) Charles Lincoln Merton was born on May 2, 1930 a son to the late Lewis and Irene (Cull) Lincoln. Mert grew up in Naples, NY as a teenager he attended East High School in Rochester. He served in the US Army from 1950-1953, he fought in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart for his Bravery. Upon completion of his military service Mert married Joanne Pridmore on September 6, 1953. They briefly lived in Rochester both employed at the Eastman Kodak Company. In 1954 they returned to Naples to raise their family and for Mert to begin his life's career in farming which he did until retiring in 1999. Mert also was community minded and served as Naples Town Justice and Town Council member from 1072-1976 when he became Naples Town Supervisor. Mert was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, snowmobiling, water sports (Waterskiied at the age of 77.) Survived by his loving wife Joanne, children Stephen (Maggie), Andrew (Lynn) and Daniel, grandchildren Joel (Amy), Julie (Jay) Didas, Jodi (Frank) Gleichauf, Nick (Leah), Zackery (Stacey), Melissa (Doug) Graham, Sam (Shelby), and Alex, siblings Lauren (deceased) (Mary), Laverne (Wanetta), Betty (Jack) Brady, Mary (Adrian) Twist, Nathen (Barbara), Rosie (Don) Varner, and Frank (Deb), 13 Great Grandchildren. A PRIVATE memorial service will be held on Saturday August 8, 2020 In lieu of flowers, donations to Naples Hospeace House, Box 343, Naples, NY 14512 or Canandaigua VA Hospital, 400 Fort Hill Dr. Canandaigua, NY 14424 Attn.
