Eva M. Leibenguth, age 96, passed away Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 at the Conesus Lake Nursing Home, Livonia.
Eva was born January 10, 1924 in Dansville, a daughter of Edwin & Ruth (Lawrence) Wambold. She attended grade school on Harper's Ferry Rd., Springwater and high school at Wayland Central School. She was the widow of John R. Vose; who predeceased her in 1969. After John passed away she became a Registered Nurse. She was a homemaker & mother of 5 children. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Gordon "Red" Leibenguth in 1996. She spent her nursing career at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville.
Eva was an active member of the Hornell Church of Latter Day Saints, a dedicated member of Bone Builders of Wayland and a loyal supporter of WXXI radio, Lollipop Farm and AARP.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing everything from afghans to dolls for her relatives and church projects, gardening, collecting, loving and caring for stray cats and shopping, but most of all she loved visiting with family & friends.
She is survived by her children, Geneva (Harold) Towner, Ruth (Charles) Denham, Ethel (Kenneth) Applin, Larry (Victoria) Vose and Alden Vose; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; step-children, Norbert (Barbara) Leibenguth, Arlene "Susie" Branch, Thomas (Sharon) Leibenguth and Lisa (Jim) Shetler; many step-grandchildren & step great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her dear friends, Kathy & Doug Mehlenbacher..
A memorial service is being planned for a later date. The date & time will be announced.
