Obituary of Carl G. Rex

Carl George Rex, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021 and has joined Roberta, his loving wife of over 70 years, in their new home with the Lord. Carl was a World War II Naval veteran, member of John Hodge Lodge for over 50 years, devout member of the Bristol Springs Free Church and the former Postmaster of Naples. He is predeceased by his wife, Roberta; parents: Charles & Elena (Schultice) Rex; daughter, Sue Rex; grandson, Joshua Nash; great-granddaughter, Emma; brothers: Lyell (Ellen), Charlie, Edwin (Mary), John (Laurel); sisters: Pauline Gallipeau (Art), Frances Wolfanger, Hazel North (Harold); brother-in-law, William Hargrave and several nieces & nephews. He is survived by his son, Philip Rex and his daughter, Jo Ann Rex (Jay Tovey) his “wonderful care giver;” grandchildren: Noah (Tiffany) & Jamie; great-grandchildren: Issac, Liam, & Isabelle; sisters-in-law: Mary Lou Rex & Nancy Hargrave; and several nieces & nephews. Family & friends are invited to a graveside service for both Carl & Roberta’s at 11am on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Rose Ridge Cemetery in Naples NY; a celebration of their lives will immediately follow at Fellowship Hall Bristol Springs Free Church with coffee and snacks. The family would like to thank Pastor Spaid and the congregation for all of their love and support of Roberta and Carl through the years and their help in the family’s time of need. The family respectfully declines flowers and asks you consider making a memorial contribution to the Naples Hospeace House or any Hospice organization in Carl & Roberta’s memory.
