Obituary of Charles W. Teeter

With deepest sorrow, we share that Charles W. "Charlie" Teeter, age 69, passed suddenly on Friday, November 19, 2021 with his children at his side. Charlie was born on November 30, 1951 in Dansville to the late William & Alberta (Turner) Teeter. Charlie was a long-time Dansville resident. In his youth, he was an active participant in the Livingston County 4H club and an active member of the Sparta Methodist Church. He was a talented musician who played the guitar, piano and harmonica and who sang in the church choir. Charlie worked at the Main Tire in Dansville, NY for 42 years prior to his retirement. After retiring Charlie enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, feeding and caring for his birds and winning the occasional hand of solitaire. Charlie was a friend to all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Charlie is predeceased by his wife, Colleen; his infant son, Charles David Teeter; and his sister, Carol Sleight. Charlie is survived by his children: Greg (Jennifer) Teeter, Rachel (Matthew) Roberts, Amanda (Chris Watts) Teeter & Adam (Gina) Teeter; his stepchildren: Michael (Amy) Teeter & Mary Burley; his sister, Mary Lou (Gerry) Creech; and many grandchildren. Family & friends are invited to call from 11am – 1pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at the Chamberlin-Baird Funeral Home, 73 Main Street, where funeral services will be held at 1pm. Burial will immediately follow at Greenmount Cemetery, Dansville. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the Sparta Center Methodist Church, 8455 Sparta Center Road, Dansville NY 14437.
