Obituary of James F. Collmer Sr.
James F. Collmer Sr., age 73, passed away at home on Saturday, December 18, 2021 due to life-long complications of Agent Orange.
Jim was born on December 8, 1948 in North Hornell to the late Carl & Doris (Lorow) Collmer. He proudly served our country overseas in Vietnam from 1968 until his honorable discharge in 1970. Jim was also a Life Member at the Cohocton Legion.
Jim enjoyed many things- he liked watching old western movies & game shows on tv, picking on his family and friends, & Mopar; Jim's greatest joy was spending time with his children & grandchildren, especially watching them play soccer.
In addition to his parents, Jim is also predeceased by 3 of his siblings.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ruth (Quaintance) Collmer; his children: James (Tanya) Collmer Jr., Diana (Chris) Jordan, & Laura (Dennis) McGregor; his 6 grandchildren: Zach & Austin Collmer, Jonathan & Izobella McGregor and Angelina & Aubree Jordan; 9 siblings; his very special friends, Gerry Werndle & Richard Nisbet; and many nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Family & friends are invited to call from 5pm – 7pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at the Baird-Moore Funeral Home, 154 S. Main Street, Naples. A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 10am on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the funeral home.
