Obituary of Caine Randall Shawn Riley

Caine Randall Shawn Riley, age 28, a beloved son, brother, family member and friend passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. He was born April 28, 1993, at St. James Mercy Hospital to Shawn Riley (Wayland) and Lisa (Rath) Riley (Cohocton). Caine was a funny, intelligent and caring individual who loved to make people laugh. He had a quick sense of humor that left everyone around him, including himself, laughing hysterically and usually in tears. Caine's hard work and dedication to the things he loved showed. Everyone knew they could come to him with any problem they had, and he would be there to help. Caine spent most of his time hunting for the perfect derby car and building them from the ground up. He enjoyed working with his hands and creating a hard-hitting machine. Derbies weren't just a hobby for Caine, it was a lifestyle that he bonded over with his older brother Cotye and the rest of his Underbuilt Family. Caine was able to travel all over the country to experience different kinds of derbies and was able to pick up a few tips while dropping a few himself. Caine is survived by his parents, his brother, his dogs Koda, Deezel and Ky, his grandparents, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Caine will be greatly missed but will live on with every turn of that key and every engine that roars to life on the track. Family and friends are invited to call from 4pm – 6pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. in Wayland where funeral services will be held at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in memory of Caine to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, BCRF.org
