Ryan James Rector age 27 passed suddenly, by accident, while doing his job. Ryan's work was his passion.
Ryan was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
He was the proud owner of Hillside Logging and Tree Service. As a member of Maxfield Hose Company, Ryan served as Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, Fire Chief (at 25 years old), and currently Vice President. Being a public servant to the Naples community and surrounding area was important to him, and when you called, Ryan was always there.
Ryan was an avid outdoorsman and spent his free time with friends and family doing what he loved; hunting, fishing, trapping, boating, golfing, snowmobiling, and farming. Over the last several years Ryan had gone on hunting and fishing expeditions across the country traveling to Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, and New Brunswick and Ontario, Canada. He was looking forward to his planned trips to Arizona and Africa. He also really wanted to go to Alaska someday with his sister, and I think he would have let Rachelle come too. No matter how far he traveled, his favorite place in the world to be, was home in Naples, NY.
He is survived by his parents Rachelle and Steve Cromwell and Dale Rector, sister Victoria Rector, aunts and uncles Lisa Doty, Allen (Linda) Rector, Carol (Roger) Fleischman, Patricia Schenk, Dianne (Adam) Stalker, and Susan Rector, many cousins, loyal friends, and his dog Moose. He is pre-deceased by his grandparents Karen and Richard Doty, Doris and Leslie Rector, and uncle Claire Rector.
Ryan was a person that impacted the lives of many. Whether he was mentoring young hunters, helping them to harvest their first turkey or deer, or teaching young conservationists as an instructor at BOCES, Ryan contributed more to the world than he asked of it. Ryan was mature beyond his years and was highly regarded and respected by people of all ages. He was Uncle Ryan to numerous kids and was truly a kid at heart.
He will be missed by all who knew him and were touched by him.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 4pm – 8pm at the Maxfield Hose Banquet Hall, 8181 Maxfield Road, Naples NY 14512.
