Obituary of Rose M. Zeh

Rose M. Zeh, age 89 of Cohocton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, May 28, 2022. Rose was born on December 24, 1932 in Hornell to the late Harold & Mildred (Huber) Bates. On May 20, 1950, Rose married Wilson S. Zeh who predeceased her on September 5, 2008. Rose had many hobbies: she loved to go to garage sales and play Sudoku; she enjoyed being outdoors and mowing the lawn. Rose enjoyed reading, sewing, and watching Jeopardy. She cared for her family by being a homemaker and would can fruits & vegetables and was famous for her birthday cakes. Rose enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she loved very much. In addition t0 her parents and husband, Rose is predeceased by her siblings: Richard Bates, Wanda Skinkle, & Delores (Bill) Taylor; her sister-in-law, Carol Bates; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Johnson & Ken Page. Rose is survived and will be sorely missed by her children: Harold (Doris) Zeh & Denise (John) Schubmehl; her grandchildren: Brian Zeh & Amelia (Nick) Mello; soon-to-be great-grandchild; her siblings: Veronica "Bonnie" Johnson, Vera Page, Joanne (Gerald) Mayeu, Howard (Linda) Bates, Harold Bates, Vaughn (Joan) Bates & Monty Bates; her sister-in-law, Pat Bates; and many nieces, nephews & cousins. Friends may call 11am – 1pm on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland where funeral services will be held 1pm. Burial will be next to Wilson in Lakeview Cemetery, Loon Lake.
