Obituary of Ralph Morse

Ralph I. Morse, age 79, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Strong Memorial Hosp. in Rochester.

Ralph was born March 25, 1929 in Pittsburg, PA, a son of Ralph I. & Edith (Heleum) Morse. He served in the US Navy from May 31, 1946 to May 25, 1949, where he received his GED. After the service he graduated from Carnegie Melon Electrical & Engineering College in 1954. He resided in Germany as an electrical engineer working in radar. He moved to Rathan, Maryland, and then moved to New York, where he worked for EMAC and Flightline in Rochester until his retirement in 1992. He married Harriet Agnes Cansdale on July 5, 1999; she survives. In addition to his parents, Ralph was also predeceased by a sister, Jean Fryzinger in 1991.

Ralph was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church where he served on the Church Council Committee. He was also a member of the Wayland Masonic Lodge and was a patron of the Wayland Eastern Star as well as the Wayland American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Harriet; daughter, Karen Bacon of Stufford, TX, his sons, Roger I. (Linda) Morse of Tonawanda & Randy I. Morse of Middlesex; step-daughters, Shelia (Dale) George of South Dansville, Lori (Chuck) McCurry of Cohocton, Linda Nowak of Columbus, GA & Sheri (Kevin) Frail of Cohocton; step-sons, Donald Cansdale of Springwater, Ronald (Sandra) Cansdale of Wayland, Richard Cansdale (Cecil Weaver)) of Greece, Douglas (Michele) Cansdale of Springwater & Duane (Bonnie) Cansdale of Wayland; 22 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews & cousins.

Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 pm Sunday at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home, 300 West Naples St., Wayland, where a Masonic service will be held 6:30 pm followed by an Eastern Star service at 6:45 pm. Funeral services will be held 11 am, Monday at the funeral home followed by burial with full military honors at the Village Cemetery, Wayland.
